Sales Development Manager for Europe - Healthcare industry


Job Description:

Your Mission:
Solvay offers polymers for both implantable medical devices, the Solviva Biomaterials, and non-implanted healthcare applications. For Solviva Biomaterials we are looking for a Sales Development Manager who will be responsible for developing new, profitable business for Solvay Specialty Polymers in the growing and dynamic Europen Healthcare Industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand key value propositions and products of Solviva business and healthcare industry
  • Work with the market manager to implement marketing and marketing communication plans
  • Develop broad and deep contacts with customers
  • Find and develop (or investigate qualified leads) for new business for non-buying accounts in the implantable devices european healthcare industry as measured by closes and growth in the value of the development/opportunity pool
  • When developing business with customers with implantable medical devices, always work strictly within the rules and constraints of the Solviva business
  • Provide account management at buying accounts for the Solviva business after closes and develop new application at these accounts
  • Negotiate Supply Agreements with OEM’s
  • Develop new business based on transatlantic translations at key OEM’s
  • Develop near term and long range sales plan for developmental business through web-based tools
  • Monitor and communicate competitive activity
  • Forecast new closes into Product Management and Operations Planning
  • Complete press releases/articles/conference papers, as appropriate
  • Identify, obtain approval and attend training to further develop capabilities, including industry-specific understanding such as Biocompatibility, sterilization practices, a working understanding of FDA and other regulating bodies, and other Healthcare related training
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

Profile:

  • University degree, preferably in a technical field
  • At least 5 years of related commercial experience in a technical industry (plastics experience strongly preferred and medical/healthcare industry experience a plus)
  • Fluent English speaker, preferably with proficiency in French and/or German as well
  • Excellent initiative, autonomy and enthusiasm
  • Strong desire to learn and share knowledge
  • Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to educate customers/colleagues both on the technical and commercial side
  • European-based travel up to 75% of the time

NOTE:

Preferred base countries for this position includes Solvay sites in Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France and Italy due to proximity to key customers. It is also possible a home office solution.
